Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Gerald Zinzo

   Gerald F. Zinzo, 86, of Gladwin passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008 at the Gladwin Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

   Gerald was born Dec. 15, 1921 in Yale, Michigan to Charles and Hazel (Hansman) Zinzo.

   Gerald served his country during World War II as a sergeant In the 326th Glider Infantry. He was a 60-year member of the American Legion and was very active in the Luzerne Post #162.

   He married the former Wilda French on Dec. 1, 1951. Wilda passed away in 1996. He moved to Gladwin from Grayling in 2002 and was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church.

   Gerald retired from what was then Aunt Janes Foods in Croswell, Michigan as the production manager. He then worked for the Croswell Lexington school district overseeing the public school food system. Gerald was a past board member of the Council on Aging in Grayling.

   He loved to travel and could be seen in the company of his special friend Shirley Schaffer. Surviving are one daughter, Doris (John) Badgerow of Gladwin; one son, Ron (Catherine) Zinzo of Port Huron; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two greatgreat- grandchildren; one brother, Eugene Zinzo of Port Huron; one sister, Virginia Loxton of Port Huron; and several nieces and nephews.

   Services were held Friday, Jan. 4 at Sisson Funeral Home. Rev. David Sprang officiated and burial was in the Pioneer Cemetery in South Branch Township, Crawford County.

   Memorials may be made to Christ the King Lutheran Church.
