Roy Zimmer
Roy E. “Jack” Zimmer, 79, of Gladwin, died Sept. 15, 2005 at his home following a short illness.
He was born in Gladwin on Oct. 11, 1925 to Edward and Cora (Wirick) Zimmer. He married Mary Kroha in Beaverton on July 27, 1947. He was a lifelong resident of Gladwin County. He served in the Army during World War II and worked as a supervisor at Dow Corning, retiring in 1987.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Zimmer of Beaverton; his son, Harvey (Barbara) Zimmer of Boise, Idaho; his daughter, Shirley (Alan) Young of Burton; grandchildren Katrina, Kale, Troy and Tonya; seven Great grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Hetherington of Clio and Mae Hetherington of Gladwin; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Don Zimmer.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Sept. 17 at Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin, with Rev. Donald Potter officiating. Burial took place in Grout Township Cemetery.
