ARTHUR NELLO YOUNG (17 FEB 1934 - 19 MAY 1992)

   Arthur Nello Young, 58, of Beaverton, died May 19, 1992, at Ann Arbor Veterans Administration Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was born Feb. 17, 1934, in Yawkey, W. Va. He was a resident of Gladwin County for 21 years. Mr. Young was a veteran of the Korean War. He was also a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7303 and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 94. He was also a member of National Disabled American Veterans 240642. He married the former Dorothy Young Jan. 16, 1979, in Hollywood, Fla. She survives.

   Other survivors included his step children, Raymond and Laverne Umphrey of Oklahoma, Robert Umphrey of Oklahoma, Vanda Umphrey of Oklahoma, Lloyd Umphrey of Beaverton, Mark Umphrey of Florida and Kelly Umphrey of Gladwin; 14 grandchildren; his mother, Nellie Young of West Virginia and Richard Young of Wisconsin; and four sisters, Lucille Scheele of Tennessee, Loreta Laforest of Gains, Dorothy Owens of Big Rapids and Eva Rebecca Knouff of Florida. His father John W. Young; one brother, James C. Young; and one sister, Carol Jolane (Jo) Dinsmore, predeceased him.

   Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, May 22, 1992, from Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel, with Clarence Moore officiating. Military services will be conducted. Burial will be in Arbutus Cemetery in Beaverton. Visitation will be at 5 p.m. today.
