Joseph Yeager
Joseph W. Yeager, 70, of 401 N. Silverleaf St., Gladwin, died Monday, May 18,
in the Gladwin Area Hospital after a long illness with cancer. Born in New Martinsville, W. Va.,
March 11, 1917, he came to Gladwin County in 1935 from Flint. Mr. Yeager was retired from Dow
Corning and a veteran of World War II. He was a life member of the Masonic Lodge 397 F. & A.M.,
the Bay City Consistory and Elf Khurafeh Temple. Mr. Yeager and the former Doris Nimphie were
married Feb. 22, 1941, in Swartz Creek.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Michael of Holt; one daughter, Pat Yeager of Lansing;
2 brothers, Rodney and Edwin of Durand; and 2 sisters, Eleanor Williams and Lois Butler of Owosso.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Yeager, Sept. 13, 1986. Services were held today,
Wednesday, at 1 p.m. from the Sisson-Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Joel Hurley officiated and burial
was in the Highland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Gladwin High School Athlete Departme.
