George Yats
George W. Yats, 65 of 4546 Roehrs Rd., Beaverton, died Friday, Oct. 24,
in the Midland Hospital Center after an illness of 6 months. Born in Saginaw, Jan. 24. 1921,
he had spent his lifetime in the county. He was a master craftsman machinist. Mr. Yats was a
veteran of World War II. He was married to the former Ruth Dennings April 23, 1945, in Gladwin.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Marion of Weidman and Chester with the Navy in
Barbers Point, Hawaii; 2 daughters, Mrs. Andy (Carolyn) Anderson of Gladwin and Mrs. Sidney
(Janice) Saylor of Beaverton, his mother, Mrs. Isabella Yats of Coleman; one brother, James of
Coleman; 4 sisters, Edith Wriska, Alice Bennett, Laura Mathis and Hope Carnahan of Beaverton;
16 grandchildren and one great grandchild. A brother, Lawrence die in 1935.
Services were held Monday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. The Rev.
Arthur Munger officiated and burial was in the Tobacco Township Cemetery.
