Lawrence Yates
Lawrence Robert Yates, 52, of 1212 Leaman Rd., Hope, died Sunday, March
10, in the Midland Hospital Center after a long illness. Born in Gladwin County Dec. 5, 1932,
he moved to Hope a year a half ago from Beaverton. He was a self-employed upholsterer and a
veteran of the Korean War. He was married to the former Wilma Saylor Oct. 3, 1958, in Midland.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 4 sons, Lawrence of Clare, Jeffrey of Midland, James of
Jacksonville, Fla. and Joel at home; 3 daughters, Joy, Jody and June at home; his mother,
Isabelle Yats of Coleman; 2 brothers, George of Beaverton and James of Coleman; 4 sisters, Edith
Wriska of Coleman, Laura Mathis and Alice Bennett of Beaverton and Hope Carnahan.
Services were held today (Wednesday) at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home Beaverton Chapel.
Arthur Munger officiated and burial was in the Dale Cemetery.
