Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Evelyn Wrisley

   The Lord gathered Evelyn Marie Wrisley in his arms and took her home on April 1, 2007 She died in her family home surrounded by her loving family.

   Evelyn, 85, was born in 1922 to William (Burr) and Rose McLean in St. Louis. She grew up living and working on the family farm. After graduation she moved to Coleman to work in her aunt’s restaurant.

   She met her future husband Elwin Wrisley in Coleman and was married on Feb. 3, 1944.

   When he returned from the war they started their life together living in his grandmother’s house in Coleman, where they lived the rest of their lives.

   Evelyn was a mother of five and a homemaker. Her life revolved around her husband and her family. She enjoyed baking, canning, sewing, caring for her garden and flowers, and going to yard sales. She was always willing to help her children and was a loving mother and a constant presence in their lives. Although she was a quiet woman and not very outgoing, she loved to talk to people, had a good sense of humor, and loved to laugh. She enjoyed having family dinners surrounded by loved ones. Mom you were our angel on earth.

   Evelyn leaves behind three daughters, Cynthia (Gene) Badgley of Beaverton, Barbara (Tom) Dittenber of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, and Nancy (Ron) Krouse of Riverdale; two sons, Eugene (Joni) Wrisley of St. Louis and Robert (Carolyn) Wrisley of Clare; six grandchildren, Stacie and Jason Jackson, Ryan Badgley, Erica Wrisley, Brent Wrisley, Mitchell Wrisley and his fiancée Amanda Johnson, Chad Wrisley; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Maffeo of Arizona and Betty (Ed) Holbrook of Ohio; one brother, William (Carol) McLean of South Lyons; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Albert and Joyce Wrisley of Florida; also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Elwin; her parents, Rose and Burr Mclean; brothers-in-law, Wilbur Wrisley, Linwood Wrisley, Robert Maffeo; and sister-in-law, Arlene Yakubison.

   Visitation will be at O’Laughlin Funeral home in Coleman on Friday, April 6, 2007 from 6-9 p.m. and at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 7 at the church. The funeral will be held at the Coleman United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at 1p.m.

   The family requests that donations be made to Heartland Hospice of Bay City or the Susan B. Komen cancer fund.
