Clayton Wray
ILLNESS FATAL TO CLAYTON WRAY
Clayton Harold Wray, 47, died at his home in Gladwin Sunday following a heart attack. He
was born on Nov. 22, 1912, in Gladwin, and was married to the former Miss Arlene Cripps here
on March 7, 1937. A veteran of World War II, his eyes were injured in 1945 while serving with
Co. C, 1263rd Engineers Battalion in Europe. He spent two years overseas in the Rhineland and
Central European campaigns. Returning to Gladwin after discharge from service he has operated
a trucking business.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene; four sons, Floyd, Kent, Leon, Gary, of Gladwin; his
father, Claude, of Gladwin; and four brothers, Delvin, of Saginaw, Alfred, of Flint and Elmer
and Fred of Lansing; and five sisters, Mrs. Madonna Gary, of Lansing, Mrs. Delpha Loar, of Clare,
Ruth Wray, Mrs. Betty Rutter, and Mrs. Lona Ritchie of Saginaw.
Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home. The Rev. E.
Fogelsonger officiated and burial was in Highland Cemetery.
