Jack Woodruff

JACK WOODRUFF


  Jack R. Woodruff, 60, of 189 W. VanDyke Rd., Beaverton, died suddenly Wednesday, May 20, at his home. He was born in Billings Township, Nov. 16, 1926, and had spent his lifetime here. Mr. Woodruff was a bus driver for the Beaverton schools and a part-time Beaverton City patrolman. He was a sergeant in the Army during World War II. Mr. Woodruff and the former Donna (Swinson) Witer were married May 12, 1981, in Beaverton.

  Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Lon of Midland; 2 daughters, Mrs. Rick (Sharman) Allen of Midland and Erica of Chicago, Ill.; 3 step-sons, Joseph, James and Michael Witer of Beaverton; 2 step-daughters, Mrs. Brian (Barbara) Rowland of Plantation, Fla. and Mrs. Lloyd (Patricia) Barnes of Gladwin; 3 brothers, Earl of Beaverton, Howard of Lake Ann and Neal of Gladwin; 5 sisters, Mrs. Lila Erway and Mrs. Wanda Smith of Gladwin, Mrs. Nola Spencer of Beaverton, Mrs. Blanche Wilson of Pinconning and Mrs. Doris Bock of Rhodes; and 16 grandchildren.

  Services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. The Rev. Ed Abbott officiated and burial was in the Billings Township Cemetery. Militaray graveside rites were conducted by the Gladwin County VFW Post 7303.
