HOWARD S. WOODRUFF


  Howard S. Woodruff, 79, of Lake Ann and formerly of Beaverton, died suddenly Wednesday, April 28, 1999 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Gladwin. Born Jan. 21, 1920 in Billings Township, Gladwin County, he lived in Lake Ann since 1984 and previously lived in Billings Township, Gladwin County. Howard married the former Evelyn Levandoski, Aug. 22, 1943 in Standish. He worked for The Dow Chemical Company, Midland as a building administrator for 38 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Lake Ann United Methodist Church.

  Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter, Judy DePodesta of Rockford; two sons, Bob and wife Cindy, and Dick and wife Barb, all of Beaverton; one brother, Neal of Gladwin; three sisters, Wanda Smith of Gladwin, Blanche Wilson of Pinconning, and Doris Bock of Rhodes; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and special friends, Sarah and George Rosiak, and Jeff, Greg, and Christine Rosiak. He was preceded in death by a baby, Howard Samuel Woodruff in 1952; two sisters, Lila Erway and Nola Spencer.

  Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel with Rev. Charles officiating. Burial was in Billings Township Cemetery, Beaverton. Memorial contributions may be made to Lake Ann United Methodist Church or the donor's favorite charity.
