Nancy Woodard
Mrs. Nancy L. Woodard
Nancy L. Woodard was born in Alborough, Ontario, May 3, 1844. She was united in marriage to Edwin B. Woodard Sept. 28, 1861. In 1864 they came to Speaker, Sanilac county, Michigan and there they cleared a farm and made their home until 1899. They then moved to Gladwin, purchasing a farm in Sage township.
Due to failing health they sold the farm in 1910 and came to Gladwin.
The husband preceded her in death 13 years ago, in 1915.
Mrs. Woodard was converted in 1870 and remained a faithful Christian until her death December 4, 1928. She had reached the age of 84 years, 7 months and 1 day.
She leaves to mourn her loss seven children, C. E. Woodard, Mrs. C. A. Bradley, Mrs. G. A. Molesworth and Mrs. Ira Carpenter of Gladwin, and Mrs. D. A. Bradley of Boyne City, and R. M. Woodard of Port Huron, and Mrs. Leo Moore of Lansing; 34 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carlos Bradley, and from the Methodist church Thursday afternoon, Dec. 6. Rev. Leroy M. Whitney, pastor of the church, officiating. The body was laid to rest in Highland cemetery.
