RITES FRIDAY FOR MRS. EFFIE WOOD
Mrs. Effie Wood, 80, of Gladwin, died Tuesday, March 31, at the Clare Nursing Home after a long illness. Born in Clare County on Dec 29, 1889, she had spent her life in Gladwin County. The former Effie Bryan, she was married to Herbert Wood on Aug. 7, 1914, in Gladwin. He preceded her in death in 1968.
Surviving are four sons, Darrel of Beaverton, Clare, of Tampa, Fla., Milton, of Marshall, and Rex, of DeWitt; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Cetas, of Harbor Springs and Mrs. Iva Austin, of Bartow, Fla.; one brother, Ray Bryan, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and 18 grandchildren. Rites will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from the Hall Funeral Home. The Rev. Allen Parker will officiate and burial will be in the Ridge Cemetery.
