Blanche Wood
Mrs. Blanche Wood died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ernest Vannatter, after a long illness. Mrs. Wood was born in Van Wert, Ohio. November 21, 1878, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melville Murphy. In 1896 she was married to Richard Imler of Van Wert, Ohio, who preceded her in death. To them was born one daughter. In 1900 she moved to Gladwin with her parents. On August Behnke and one son, Her-to George E. Wood, who died September 4, 1929.
Surviving her are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melville Murphy, three daughters, Mrs. Clyde Wilkinson, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mrs. Ernest Vannatter and Mrs. August Behnke and one son Herbert Wood of Gladwin, three sisters, Mrs. Maud Long of Phillips, Mississippi, Mrs. Chas. Drew and Mrs. Carey Hoffman of Ft Wayne, Indiana, four brothers Walter Murphy of Addison, Rome of Cleveland, Ohio, Clark of Flint, and Homer of Convoy, Ohio, five grandsons, Edward and Clyde Wilkinson of Ft. Wayne, Clare, Darrell and Rex Wood of Gladwin, three grand daughters, Jo Ann and Connie Behnke and Annalee Vannatter of Gladwin.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Karl Keefer at 1:30 Tuesday at the Vannatter residence and at 2 p.m. at the M.E. Church. Burial was in Ridge Cemetery. Pall bearers were Glenn Wagar, David Hawkins, Alex Diffins, Dr. F. E. Myers, Norman Wagar, and Herbert Leininger. Relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Wilkinson, Mr. and Mrs. Carey Huffman and family of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Clark Murphy and family of Flint, Mr. and Mrs. Nila Wood, Elliot Wood, Wendell Wood and Mrs. Clarence Cook of Detroit and Mrs. Mrs. Art Buchanan of Saginaw.
