Maxine Witkowski
Maxine S. Witkowski, 95, of Beaverton died at home on Aug. 30, 2006 after a long illness.
She was born May 13, 1911 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of Joseph and Nellie (Polchak) Polheber.
She was a homemaker and lived in Gladwin County the last 35 years, having previously resided in DeFord.
Surviving are her daughters, Virginia Krukowski of East Detroit, Dolores (Lawrence) Cisco of Sterling Heights, Estelle Strick of Beaverton, and Arlene Trella of Sterling Heights; one son, Anthony Witkowski, Jr. of Beaverton; 23 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jenny Mozdzen of DeFord and Helen Mikayirek of Florida. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Witkowski in 1983, her parents, a daughter, Gertrude, and a sister, Anna Murawski.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 2 at Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin. Burial was in Billings Township Cemetery in Beaverton. Memorial contributions may be made to Mid- Michigan Hospice.
