Henry Winkler
Henry F. Winkler, 69, of 1003 Second St., Gladwin, died Friday, Oct. 21,
in the Midland Hospital Center following a long illness. Born in Gladwin on August 18, 1914,
he spent his lifetime here. Mr. Winkler was an operator in the Anion Resins Department of Dow
Chemical Co. He retired in 1979 after 29 years. He served in the Army during World War II and
was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge 177 and the Gladwin County VFW Post 7303. He was married to
the former Ella Klein on July 25, 1941, in Gladwin.
Surviving besides his wife are, 5 daughters, Mrs. Marie Joslin of New Boston, Mrs. Diane Miller,
Mrs. Karen McGuire and Patricia of Gladwin and Mrs. Jeanne Drabek of Bremerton, Wash,; one brother,
Melvin of Gladwin; one sister, Mrs. Marian Hilyard of Omer; and 6 grandchildren.
Services were held Monday at 11 a.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel with the Rev.
Donald Bates officiating. Cremation followed with interment of ashes in the McClure Cemetery.
