James Wilson
James N. Wilson, 83, of 215 S. Antler St., Gladwin, died Thursday, Nov. 19,
in the Town & Country Nursing Home, Midland, after a long illness. Born in Big Rapids Feb. 7,
1904, he came to Gladwin County in the 1950's. Mr. Wilson operated a welding shop here. He was
a veteran of World War I and a member of the Gladwin Free Methodist Church. Mr. Wilson and the
former Elsie Crisherin were married in 1922 in Detroit.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Frederick of Sebewaing, 2 daughters, Mrs. Walter
(Sylvia) Allen and Mrs. Ralph (Elsie) Neal of Midland; 2 brothers, Dale and Ernest of Port Huron;
2 sisters, Elizabeth Shank of Port Huron and Wanda Vigh of Orlando, Fla.; 9 grandchildren and 19
great grandchildren. Two children and a brother preceded him in death.
Services were held Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Gladwin Free Methodist Church. The Rev. Burton
Kincaid officiated and burial was in the Highland Cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of the
Sisson-Mathews Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Gideons.
