Edward Wilson Sr.
Edward L. Wilson, Sr., 42, of 212 N. Hawkins Rd., Gladwin, died Sunday, Aug.
8, in the Midland Hospital Center. Born in Gladwin on October 2, 1939, he moved to Saginaw with
his parents as a child. He move back to Gladwin in 1962. He worked as a heavy equipment operator
for General Motors from 1962 to 1967 when he retired after an accident. He served in the U.S.
Navy during the Korean conflict. Mr. Wilson received his high school diploma in May 1979 through
the adult education program in Gladwin. He was married to the former Kay Duby on December 21, 1957,
in Saginaw.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Edward Jr. and Roy, both at home, one daughter, Mrs.
Michael (Jean) Bailey of St. Helen; his parents, Earl and Mona Wilson of Gladwin; and his grandmother
Mrs. Bertha Wilson of Saginaw. Services were held today, Wednesday, at 1 p.m. from the Mathews Funeral
Home. The Rev. Mark Moore and the Rev. Gerald Palmer officiated and burial was in the McClure Cemete.
