Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Gordon Willford

   Gordon L. Willford, 87, of Gladwin died May 7, 2006 at home following a short illness. He was born May 7, 1919 in Gladwin to William Gordon and Helen (Walker) Willford. He married the former Geneva Thorington in Gladwin on Jan. 22, 1940.

   Mr. Willford was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County. He was a mechanic for Greer Brothers, a lifetime farmer, and a school bus driver for Gladwin Community Schools for 23 years. He was a member of the Gladwin Farm Bureau and Soil Conservation District.

   Surviving are his wife, Geneva Willford of Gladwin; his children, Louis “Jake” (Deborah) Willford, Jim (Lana) Willford, and John E. (Linda) Willford, all of Gladwin, Clara “Cookie” Edgar of Escanaba, and Donald (Wanda) Willford of Bay City; his daughter- in-law, Ann Willford of Gladwin; 19 grandchildren, 45 Great-grandchildren and one Great-greatgrandchild, Logan; his sister, Florence Adams of Gladwin; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Eileen Baning and Dorothy Martin; and brother, Thomas Willford.

   A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 10 at 11 a.m. at Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin, pastor Lynn Chappell officiating. Burial will take place in Highland Cemetery in Gladwin.

   Memorial contributions may be used according to the wishes of the family.
