Reggie Whittle
James (Reggie) Whittle, 86, of 3006 N. Hockaday Rd., Gladwin Township, died
Saturday, December 6, at Gladwin Area Hospital following a short illness. Born near Pratt's
Lake, Sage Township, December 7, 1889. Mr. Whittle had live the greater part of his life in
Gladwin County. He was the son of James and Artinca Reynolds Whittle, and was engaged in general
farming until his retirement in 1967. He and the former Ruth Boyce were married June 22, 1944, in
Bay City. Mr. Whittle was a World War I U.S. Navy veteran, and a member of the Round Lake Baptist
Church.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth; 2 daughters, Mrs. David (Mary) Williams of Milwaukee, Wisc., and
Mrs. Randall (Ilah) Halvorsen of Greendale, Wisc.; a sister, Mrs. Mamie David of Gladwin; and one
granddaughter. Services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home with the Rev. Winston
Decker officiating and burial was in McClure Cemete.
