William Whipple
William A. Whipple, 84, of Beaverton died May 18, 2005 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland. He was born in Denton Township on March 3, 1921 to Jasper and Beulah (Roe) Whipple. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married the former Patricia Watson on Sept. 30, 1960 at Walled Lake. He was project leader at G.M. Pontiac Truck and Coach, retiring in 1982 after 20 years. He lived in Gladwin County since 1984, having previously resided in Waterford. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 7303, Local 594-Pontiac, and Gladwin County D.A.V. Chapter 77.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Whipple of Beaverton; his children, Teresa (Mike) Webb of Alachua, Florida, Timothy W. (Diane) Whipple of Davisburg, Ted (Vicki) Whipple of Imlay City, and Trina (Chris) Robinson of Midland; six grandchildren and two Great grandchildren; two brothers, Aubrey Whipple of Walled Lake, and Glenn (Sally) Whipple of Beaverton; one sister, Beulah “Betty” Whipple of West Bloomfield; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and two brothers, Samuel and Raymond.
Services were held May 21 at Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin, Rev. Mark H. Moore officiating. Burial was at Midland Memorial Garden. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
