Azubah Jones Gibbs warner

MRS. A. W. WARNER

  The death of Mrs. Azubah Jones Gibbs Warner, wife of A. W. Warner, occurred at this place Wednesday evening. Mrs. Warner had long been a sufferer from complicated complaints, and her death was not unexpected. Funeral services will be held at the church next Sunday at 1 p.m., conducted by Rev. A.H. Coors.

  Deceased was born at Charzee, New York, March 29, 1807, and was therfore at the time of her death in her 71st year. At Fairsburgh, Vt., July 4, 1836, she married Ormal Gibbs, to whom she bore 9 children, of whom Charles G. Gibbs, Mrs. Henry Church and Mrs. A. Garbet of Gladwin, M. W. Gibbs and Hattie A. Taylor of Grand Rapids are living, the following having died: In 1854 a daughter 10 weeks old from small pox; in 1862, Robert J., son 25 years old, died in hospital at Jackson, Tenn.; at Los Angles, Cal., in 1883, Josiah H., in his 38th year; at Bismark, D. T., George G., in his 38th year, was fatally and accidentally shot. In the line of her descendants there are 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

  With her family she 37 years ago removed from Vermont to Michigan, settling in Oakland county. During the was she evinced her patriotism by following the troops, and serving nearly 4 years as nurse in the hospitals, passing two winters at City Point and one at Washington. Her husband and four sons also served in the war. (one son re-enlisting) and were all honorably discharged, Dec. 4, 1865, after returning from the war, her first husband died, and she removed to Muskegon county and located a homestead, and proved up her claim. She was married seven years ago to A. W. Warner, and about one year ago removed to Gladwin county, and during her last days has been under the kind care of her children, who have done all they could to alleviate her suffering. Her life has been a useful one, being of a cheerful and sympathetic disposition, always aiding the sick, etc., and had many friends wherever she had lived. She .
