Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Diann Walters Whitney

   Diann Beatrice Walters Whitney passed away on Jan. 25, 2006 in her home in Modesto, California.

   She was born May 14, 1944. She was a native of West Branch. Throughout her life she also lived in Nebraska, Oklahoma, the Philippine Islands and had resided in California since 1985. She was a church secretary for 20 years, mostly for the church started by her and her husband. She enjoyed singing, sewing, reading, thunderstorms, going to the snow and spending time with her grandchildren.

   She is survived by her husband, Donald Whitney of Modesto, California; children, Jeffery Whitney of Modesto, California, Teri Whitney of San Francisco, California, Katherine Whitney of St. Helen, and Tami Whitney of West Branch; mother, Helen Walters of West Branch; brother, James Walters of West Branch; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Walters; sister, Katherine Walters Steelman; and brothers, Jerry Walters and Wayne Walters.

   A memorial service was held in Modesto, California. An urn burial service will be held at Ridge Cemetery in Gladwin in the springtime.
