James Walters
James R. Walters, 31, of 385 W. Brown St., Beaverton, died Thursday,
July 5, 1990, in the Veterans Medical Facility, Saginaw, after a long illness. Born in
Clare, Nov. 9 1958, he had spent his lifetime in Gladwin County. Mr. Walters graduated
from Beaverton High School in 1977 and joined the National Guard. He then went into the
Navy in 1978, and received a medical retirement in June 1984.
Surviving are his father, James of Beaverton; 2 brothers, Harvey of Green Cove Springs,
Fla. and Greg of Beaverton; 2 sisters, Mrs. Cindy Rodabaugh and Mrs. Michelle Phelps of
Beaverton; grandparents, William and Mildred Blades of Beaverton and Mrs. Opal Olds of
Averill. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys, Sept. 18, 1985.
Services were held Tuesday at 3 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. The
Rev. Mark Moore officiated and burial was in the Tobacco Township Cemetery. A graveside
military service was conducted by the Gladwin County VFW 7303.
