Irene Walters
Irene Walters, 89, of Beaverton passed away at her home on May 5, 2007 She was born in Beaverton on March 21, 1918 to Harley and Mildred (Swanton) Quillet.
She was employed as a bank teller at Chemical Bank in Midland.
Irene has lived in Gladwin County most of her life. She was a member of Dale United Methodist Church where she played the organ for 32 years and was very active in the Ladies Aid.
She married Harold Walters on Oct. 13, 1938 in Indiana.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Richard (Sharon) Walters of Grand Blanc and Brian (Kathi) Walters of Midland; two daughters, Marsha (Hylber) Sandvig of Sterling Heights and Mary Beth Walters of Midland; nine grandchildren, Scott and Dawnn Walters, Becky Walters, Chris and Lynn Sandvig, Craig and Denise Sandvig, Curt Sandvig, Eric and Tina Walters, Heather Walters, Chris Walters, and Renae Johnson; and nine greatgrandchildren She was predeceased by her parents; one sister, Mary Leuenberger; and one brother, Harlan Quillet.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Beaverton with Pastor Pat Poag officiating She will be laid to rest at Tobacco Township (Dale) Cemetery in Beaverton.
Memorial contributions can be made to Dale United Methodist Church.
