Helen Walters
Helen M. Walters, 85, passed away Friday, June 22, 2007 in Merrill, Michigan surrounded by her loving family.
Helen was born Feb. 7, 1922.
She lived in West Branch her entire life. She was a member of the Moose Lodge of West Branch, and she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening and farming.
Surviving family members include one son, Jim “Chicken Man” Walters of West Branch; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one sister, Geneva “Dottie” Elwood of Merrill; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Helen in death was her husband, Kenneth O. Walters; two sons, Jerry Walters and Wayne Walters; two daughters, Katherine Steelman and Diane Whitney; and her parents, Harry and Leona Knight.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch. Fr. Richard Seifferly will officiate. Interment will take place immediately following the service at St. Joseph Cemetery in West Branch.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands of West Branch or VNA Hospice of Saginaw County.
