Evaleen C. Walters
Evaleen C. Walters, 83, of Gladwin, died Friday, Feb. 20, 1998 at her home. Born July 19, 1914 in Butman Township, she was the daughter of William and Maude DeLaurie Bowers. Evaleen married Wayne Walters, Sept. 9, 1935 in West Branch. She lived in Gladwin County all her life and loved being a homemaker, her garden and crocheting.
Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Rodney and wife Donna of Harrison, and Terry and wife Mary of Gladwin; four daughters, Marcella and husband Richard Tanks of Oakely, Onalee and husband Rollin Greer, and Darla Walters of Gladwin, and Dixie and husband Stephen Dent of Midland; one brother, Max Bowers of Gladwin; two sisters, Lulubelle Walters and Beatrice Benmark, both of Gladwin; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Pearl Meyers. Services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sisson Funeral Home in Gladwin with Pastor Richard Hamilton officiating. Burial was in Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
