James Walsh

James W. Walsh, 67, of Gladwin and formerly of Dearborn, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Gladwin. Born May 24, 1932 in Portland, Ore., he was the son of Willidell and Maybel Ivy. They moved to Gladwin in June of 1999 from Dearborn. James married Vivian Cates, Oct. 11, 1956 in Reno, Nev. He was a veteran of World War II and worked as a truck driver for A&R Freight Systems. He was a member of the Gladwin Assembly of God Church.
Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Michael and wife Eileen of Beaverton; one daughter, Kathryn and husband John Downs of San Pedro, Calif.; one brother, Bill; and two sisters, Betty Patchen and Susan Foley, all of California.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Gladwin Assembly of God Church with Rev. Donald Potter and Rev. Jack Wallace officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery in Gladwin. Memorials may be made to the Good News Gang Metro. Sisson Funeral Home in Gladwin was in charge of the arrangements. Gladwin County.
