Helen Wager
Helen L. Wagar, 98, of Gladwin passed away Friday, April 29 at the Gladwin Pines Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 8, 1906 in Gladwin to Phineas and Grace Milligan. Helen graduated from County Normal and taught in the old “tin school house.” She married Leon Wagar in 1925 in Gladwin and he passed away in 1974. Helen worked at AC Spark Plug during WWII. She was a member of the Wagarville Community United Methodist Church and a life member of the O.E.S. White Clover Chapter #84.
Surviving her are one son, Devere (Dorothy) Wagar of Gladwin; three grandchildren, Douglas and Rosemarie Wagar of Flushing, Timothy and Patti Wagar of California, and Deann and Dan Henrichsen of Manistique; three Great grandchildren and one Great great grandchild. Two brothers, one sister and one grandson, Dennis Wagar, predecease her.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Sisson Funeral Home in Gladwin. Pastor Kim Spencer officiated, and burial was in Ridge Cemetery. An Eastern Star Memorial was held Sunday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the church or Mid Michigan Hospice.
