Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Jerald Vallender

   Jerald A. Vallender, 62, of Beaverton, died suddenly May 15, 2006 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw. Jerry was born March 29, 1944 in Gladwin, to Ella and the late Donald Vallender. He married Pattie Moorman in 1986 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a 1962 graduated of Beaverton High School and a 1966 graduate of Michigan State University. He spent two years as a Peace Corps volunteer at the broadcasting studio of Colombia’s educational television system in Bogota, Colombia, South America. Jerry spent over 40 years working in the cable TV field. Jerry had a love of gardening and spent many hours working in his organic garden.

   He is survived by his wife Patricia E. (Moorman) Vallender and three children; Jeremy A. Vallender (from a previous marriage), Alexander N. (Monica E.) Vallender. He is also survived by his mother, Ella (Seltz) Vallender of Beaverton; four brothers, James A. (Karen) Vallender of Freeland, John A. (Erma) Vallender of El Paso, Texas, Joseph A. Vallender of Park Ridge Illinois and Jeffrey A. (Nancy) Vallender; seven sisters, Judith A. (James) Hall of Alma, Janice A. (Duane) Brege of Traverse City, Jeanne A. (Robert) Lang of Beaverton, Joyce A. (Thomas) Broka of Bay City, Julie A. (Paul) Hay of Beatrice, Nebraska, June A. (Charles) Wallace of Milford, Maine and Joan A. Morris of the Dominican Republic; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

   There will be a private family gathering. In lieu of flowers you may send a memorial to the family or charity of your choice.
