Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
CeCelia Valentine

   CeCelia Mary Valentine (Welker) 65, passed away on April 3, 2006, in Cape Coral, Florida after a long battle with cancer. Faithful and strong until the end, she is with our Lord Jesus at peace forever more. She is survived by her loving husband, Dale Valentine of St. James City, Florida; her mother Opal Mickelson of Milton, New York; her daughter JoJean Welker of St. James City, Florida; her son, Dr. William Welker and daughter-in-law Pilar Welker of Milton, New York; her granddaughter Melissa Iurilli and grandson-in-law Tom Iurilli of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; her grandson Dexter Roberson of Gladwin, Michigan; her grandchildren Edmundo, Tristan and Faith Welker of Milton, New York; her Great-grandchildren Vincent, Victoria and Elizabeth Iurilli of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; several nieces, nephews and the loving children, grandchildren and Great-grandchildren of the Dale Valentine family with whom she had come to love as her own.

   The former CeCelia Burton was born May 24, 1940 in Flint, Michigan and was wed to Dexter Welker on May 24, 1958 in Tampa, Florida. She graduated from the Institute of Hair Design in Tampa, Florida and moved back to Michigan to live and work in Gladwin as a hairdresser most of her life. She was a charter member of the Gladwin Eagles 3292 and past President of the Ladies Auxiliary there. After the loss of her first husband, Dexter Welker, she remarried to Dale Valentine of Gladwin on Valentine's Day 1995. She enjoyed the rest of her days on Pine Island in Florida where she was very active in her community.

   A memorial service will be held in her honor on Sunday, May 28 at 12:30pm at the Hall's Funeral home followed by the burial of her ashes at the Ridge cemetery. A luncheon in her honor will be held at the Gladwin Eagles club at 2 p.m. for all family and friends. Memorial contributions can be given to the Eagles Scholarship Fund, a fund that CeCelia was passionate about and instrumental in setting up and founding.
