Albert Tononi
Albert Tononi, 71, of 1226 W. M-61, Gladwin, died Wednesday, July 2, in
Saginaw Veterans Hospital after a short illness. Born in Yatesboro, Pa., Aug. 26, 1914, he
had spent summers here since 1947 and in 1969 moved to Gladwin County from Melvindale. Mr.
Tononi owned Al's Bar at All-Bright Shores from 1908 to 1978. He served in the Army during
World War II and was a member of the Camp Knox Masonic Lodge 919 in Radcliff, Ky., Elf Khurafeh
Temple in Saginaw, Lodge Council Chapter Consistory, Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Bay
City. Mr. Tononi was married to the former Sue Sakara Sept. 28, 1940.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Robert of Beverly Hills, Calif.; one brother,
Joseph of Warren, Ohio, 3 sisters, Ida Heller and Catherine Pesnecker of Allen Park and Mary
Cortella of Melvindale; and 2 grandchildren. One son, Charles, preceded him in death Feb. 25,
1981.
Services were held Saturday at 8 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel, by the Gladwin
Masonic Lodge 397.
