Walter Timmons
Walter J. Timmons, 68, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008 at his residence in Lafayette County, Mississippi.
A native of Michigan, Mr. Timmons had lived in the Lafayette County area for six years.
He retired as a production superintendent from Dow Corning after 32 years of employment.
An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Timmons enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had also worked for various environmental causes.
Mr. Timmons was a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley M. Timmons of Oxford, Mississippi; three daughters, Susan Rabbage, Lori Longstreth and Carrie Sanderson, all of Midland; three sons, Jeffery Timmons of Midland, Arnold Shangle of Flint and Michael Shangle of Beaverton; two sisters, Bonnie Strayer and Barbara Stenger, both of Midland; and eight grandchildren. His parents, Walter R. Timmons and Leta Hoggard Timmons, preceded him in death.
His children planned a celebration of his life Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008 at The Church of the Daniels Band fellowship hall in Midland.
