Ray Thorington
INJURIES FATAL TO RAY THORINGTON
Ray Orland Thoringotn, 42, of Sage Township, died in the Gladwin Hospital Sunday from
injuries received in a tractor accident Saturday. Born in Grout Township on March 18, 1924,
he had spent his lifetime in Gladwin County. Mr. Thorington was employed as a boilmaker at
Dow Chemical Co. and was a veteran of World War II. He was married to the former Mary Guinther
in Mt. Morris on Feb. 25, 1950.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, William, David and Thomas, all at home; one
daughter, Janet, at home; his father, Orland, of Gladwin; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Hale of
Harrison, Mrs. Ruth Pyke and Mrs. Patty Powers, of Gladwin; one brother, Maurice, of Chicago.
Rites were held today (Wednesday) at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home. The Rev. Merlyn
Rensberry officiated and burial was in Highland Cemetery.
