Orland Thorington
O. F. THORINGTON
Orland F. Thorington, 79, died Saturday, December 29, at 129 Tonkin St., Beaverton,
following an illness of a month. Born November 27, 1894, the son of John and Agnes Welch
Thorington, he had been a lifetime resident of Gladwin County living in Sage Township. He
was a farmer until retirement. The past 2 years he lived in Beaverton. Mr. Thorington and
the former Irma Willford were married February 15, 1919, and she preceded him in death May
16, 1963. He was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors are 3 daughters, Mrs. Alice Hale of Harrison, Mrs. Ruth Pyke of Gladwin, and
Mrs. Patty Powers of Mt. Pleasant; a son, Maurice of Chicago; a brother John of Gladwin;
and a sister, Mrs. Lora Lange of Florida; 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Services
were held Monday at 3:30 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin, with the Rev. Arthur Munger
officiating, and burial was in Highland Cemetery.
