Max A. Thorington, Jr. (26 AUG 1941 - 8 AUG 1999)

   Max A. Thorington Jr. 57, of Fort Wayne, Ind., passed away Sunday, Aug. 8, 1999, after a short illness, in Fort Wayne V.A. Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Ind. He was formerly of Midland County, spending the last three years in Indiana. Max was born Aug. 26, 1941, in Gladwin. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a taxi driver for Triple A, Fort Wayne, Ind.

   He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Penny Sue and Dave Story of Bay City; granddaughter Mary Louise Story of Bay City; step daughters but like daughters, Donna and James Ingram, Jeri Sue and Osta Pruitt, an dMiechell and Shane Baggs all of Warsaw, Ind; eight step grandchildren, mother Mary Thorington of Midland; brother Allen "Ted" and Joyce Thorington, of Linwood; sister Sharon and Dennis Russell of Midland; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Max Sr. (1981); his brother, John (1987); and his sister, Catherine (1992).

   Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 12, 1999, at Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin. The Rev. Paul Klassen will officiate, with burial at Butman Cemetery, Gladwin. Visitation will be today from 6-9 p.m., Wednesday from noon-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
