Max Thorington
MAX THORINGTON
Max A. Thorington, 60, of 840 Sugar River Rd., Gladwin, died suddenly Monday in the Gladwin Area Hospital. Born in Gladwin on August 17, 1920, he moved away and then back to Gladwin County in 1972 from Bay County. Mr. Thorington was a self-employed barber. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the DAV Gateway Chapter 137 in Clare. He and the former Mary Bushong were married on October 27, 1940, in Gladwin.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, Max Jr. of Northville, Allen (Ted) of Crump and John of Gladwin; 2 daughters, Kay of Gladwin and Mrs. Dennis (Sharon) Russell of Midland; 2 brothers, Roy of Holly, Mrs. Eliza Wager, Mrs. Cora Hutson, Mrs. Helen Wheeler and Mrs. Faye Edick of Gladwin, Mrs. Mable Gute of Chesaning and Mrs. Ruth Scott of Marbury, Ala.; and 15 grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. The Rev. Melvin Stauffer will officiate and burial will be in the Butman Cemetery.
