Raymond Thompson Sr.
Raymond C. (Gabby) Thompson Sr., 66, of 5444 Mangus Rd., Beaverton, died
suddenly Sunday, Aug. 5, at his home. Born in Battle Creek on April 13, 1918, he came to
Gladwin County four years ago from Flint. He retired in 1978 as a stock keeper at Fisher Body
No. 1. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Gladwin County Sheriff's Posse,
Club 21 C. B. Club and the Gladwin County VFW 7303. Mr. Thompson and the former Arla Post were
married January 29, 1971, in Flint. She preceded him in death June 18, 1984.
Surviving are 2 sons, Raymond Jr. of Kansas City, Mo. and Lewis of Flint; and 2 grandchildren.
Rites will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. The Rev. Mark
Moore will officiate and burial will be in the Dale Cemetery.
