Glen Thomas
Glen K. Thomas, 70, of Gladwin passed away Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006 at Mid Michigan Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born on Feb. 22, 1936 in Detroit to the late Kenneth and Margaret (Yeager) Thomas. He married the former Shirley Gould on June 26, 1954 in Ogemaw County. He retired from Dow Chemical in 1995 after 30 plus years of service. He owned “The Glen” driving range on Hockaday Road, which he opened in 2001. He was a member of the Gladwin Masonic Lodge #397 F & AM and a long time member of the Moose and Eagles clubs. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Glen is survived by his wife, Shirley; his son, Alan (Kathryn) Thomas of Gladwin; two daughters, Jan (John) Gartee of Otter Lake, and Dawn (Jack) Woodruff of Mesa, Arizona; seven grandchildren and one Great-granddaughter; his brother, Rowland (Dawn) Thomas of Gladwin; and his sister, Jo Ann Shultz of Cadillac. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lewis Thomas.
A funeral service was held at Sisson Funeral Home on Saturday, Aug. 5 with Rev. Russell Williams officiating. A Masonic service was held Friday at the funeral home.
