Frederick Taylor
Frederick C. Taylor, 54, of 4761 Sylvan Dr., Gladwin, died Friday, Nov.
28, in the Gladwin Area Hospital. Born in Detroit on March 30, 1926, he moved to Flint as
a child and to Gladwin County in 1975. After graduating from Flint Central High School he
attended General Motors Institute. He retired May 31, 1969, as supervisor in Machine Repair
at Chevrolet Motor Division of General Motors. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II
and was vice president of the Frontier Shrine Club; a member of Bay City Consistory, Gladwin
Masonic Lodge 397 F & A.M. and the Gladwin Aerie 392 F.O.E. Mr. Taylor and the former Alma
Gauthier were married March 27, 1948, in Ohio.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Daniel of Colorado; 3 daughters, Colleen
Campbell of Gladwin, Mrs. Craig (Kathleen) Cummings of Lapeer and Tammy, at home; one brother,
George Taylor of Lake Worth; Fla.; and 5 grandchildren.
Rites were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Father Robert
Henley officiated and burial was in the Ridge Cemetery.
