Duane P. Tapani
(20 JULY 1933 - 31 DEC 1979)
Duane P. Tapani, 46, of Beaverton died Monday in Saginaw Veterans Administration Hospital after an illness of about a year. He was born July 20, 1933 in Calumet. He was a retired printer and cameraman. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict and a resident of Gladwin County for seven years. He previously resided in Farmington. He married Carol Schroeder Feb. 3, 1955, in Detroit.
He leaves his wife; sons, Mark Tapani of Beaverton, Craig Tapani, stationed in Lousiana with the army, and Jason Tapani, at home; daughters, Mrs. Gene (Kim) Simon of Detroit, Mrs. Roland (Laurie) Maxwell of Beaverton, Airman Janine Tapani, stationed in South Carolina, and Miss Shari Tapani, at home; six grandchildren; his father, Wayne Tapani of Tampa, Fla.; brother Rodney Tapani of Troy; and sister, Mrs. Arlene Davidson of Troy.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Beaverton chapel Hall funeral home. Burial will be in Grout Township cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today.
