Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Ruth Tank

   Beloved mother, Ruth FaNorman Tank, 97, went to be with her Lord and family members on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007 at The Brook Retirement Community in Gladwin.

   Ruth, of Gladwin, formerly of Mt. Pleasant and Toledo, Ohio was born on Saturday, Jan. 8, 1910 in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Dustin Earnest and Della (FaNorman) Halsey. On Thursday, July 20, 1933 she married Richard Ellsworth Tank in Fremont, Ohio. Ruth was a resident of Toledo until 1982 when she moved to Gladwin. From there, she moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1996 and moved back to Gladwin in 2006.

   Ruth was active in her husband’s meat markets, as an aide at the Toledo Mental Health, in the Ivalee Order of the Eastern Star of Toledo, and the White Clover OES of Gladwin. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Gladwin.

   Ruth is survived by three children, Roberta J. Mohr, Sandra (Timothy) Stegeman, and Frederick “Dusty” Tank; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; both parents; a sister, Bernice Ashton of Clyde, Ohio; and a son-in-law, Robert Mohr.

   Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 13, 2007 at Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with Pastor Ralph Fisher officiating. Graveside services were Tuesday, Aug. 14 at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park in Toledo, Ohio.

   Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Order of the Eastern Star chapter of your choice, a church of your choice, or the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children. Envelopes are available at Helms Funeral Home, 330 S. University Ave., Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
