Fred Switzer
SERVICES HELD FOR FRED SWITZER
Fred E. Switzer, 60, Gladwin Township farmer, died at his home on Friday of a self-inflicted
gun-shot wound. He had been despondent because of ill health. Born on October 2, 1896, the son
of John W. and Agnes Switzer, in Gladwin Township, he had been a lifetime resident of Gladwin
County. Mr. Switzer had never married and was a veteran of WWI.
Surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Florence Lake of Sopkane, Washington, Mrs. Fern Stage of
Pinconning, Mrs. Jesse Johnson of Royal Oak, Mrs. Bertha Trippel of Berkley and Mrs. Helen
Brichford of Cincinnati, Ohio, and one brother, Arthur Switzer of Royal Oak.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home with the Rev. Ernest
MacDonald officiating. Burial was in McClure Cemetery with Paul Hoffman, Luther Lechner, Donald
Babcock, Clarence Lennon, Thomas Lennon and Percy Peters as pallbearers.
