Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Alma Swingle

   Alma Murrel Swingle, 78, of Gladwin passed away peacefully on Monday, March 6 at the Ingham Regional Assisted Care Facility in Lansing. Murrel was born March 1, 1928 in Maumie, Illinois to Robert and Pearl (Teidemann) Farny. She married Francis Swingle on April 14, 1946 in Maumie. Francis passed away in September of 1985. Murrel has lived in Gladwin since 1964.

   Surviving are one daughter, Connie (Roger) Finnin of East Lansing; one son, Richard Swingle Susie Rideout) of Henderson, Kentucky; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence Farny of Carmi, Illinois and Paul (Betty) Farny of Marion, Illinois; a twin sister, Pearl (Owen) Matz of Burnt Prairie, Illinois; sisters-in-law Betty Gray, Peggy (Bill) Usery and Janet (Jim) Scamahorn; and several nieces and nephews.

   A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 10 at the Sisson Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Gladwin. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Friday until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to Visiting Nursing Services of Michigan-Lansing.
