Richard Sturgeon
Richard Elmer Sturgeon, 75, of Elba Township, died Sunday, July 23, 2006 at his residence. He was born in Saginaw on June 30, 1931, the son of David and Mildred (Dennings) Sturgeon.
Richard resided in Elba Township the last 20 years and Millington most of his life. He was a member of Genesee Independent Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Richard was employed by General Motors, Buick Motor Division with 38 years of service.
Survivors are his children, Richard Sturgeon, Annette (Butch) Wilk, Karen (Gary) Barbara, Mildred Skorna, Elwin Sturgeon, and Michael (Shelle) Bassett; step-children, Janene La Pratt and Jerry Van Volkenburg; numerous grandchildren and two Great-grandchildren; and brothers, Lawrence Sturgeon, Donald Sturgeon and Ronald Sturgeon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine; a brother, David Sturgeon; and a sister, Helen Clink.
