Leo Strong
SHORT ILLNESS FATAL TO LEO STRONG
Leo E. Strong, 60, died Tuesday, August 10, after an illness of about a week. He was born
in Gratiot county, February 10, 1894. After finishing school he went to Montana where he
homesteaded two farms. He was called into service during World War I and came to Gladwin county
after being discharged from the army. He was married August 22, 1924, to Margaret Holtberry.
He is survived by his wife; a son James of Ann Arbor; a daughter, Karen, at home; and two
brothers, Perl of St. Louis and Sidney of Merrill; also three grandchildren. Seven brothers and
four sister preceded him in death.
Services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the E.U.B. Church with the Rev. E. F. Rhoades
officiating. Burial will be in Highland cemetery. Friends may call at the family residence on Bard
road until noon Friday and at the church from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Arrangements are in
charge of the Miner Funeral Home.
