James Strong
James D. Strong, 84, of Ann Arbor died Sept. 8, 2006. James was born in a log cabin in Gladwin to Leo and Margaret Strong in 1922. He is a World War II Army Veteran, a member of the Zion Lutheran Church for over 58 years as well as part of the Michigan Bell Pioneers. He retired after many years of service from Michigan Bell Telephone.
He married his wife Johanna in Ann Arbor in 1948.
Survivors include his wife, Johanna; his children, twins Barbara Ann and the late Brenda Sue and twins Deborah Hardesty and Daryl (Amy) Strong; sister, Karen (Richard) McKellar; grandchildren, Andrew, Daniel, Jeffrey, Phillip, Kelli and Stephen; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved cat Kasey.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006 at Zion Lutheran Church (Chapel) in Ann Arbor with Pastor Barry Ludwig officiating. Burial followed in Arborcrest Memorial Park.
