James Stewart
RITES HELD FOR JAMES STEWART
James L. Stewart, 77, died at his Sage Township home Wednesday afternoon after a long illness.
A retired farmer, he was born on Feb. 15, 1886, in Indiana, and was married to the former Bessie
Parks, who survives him, on Feb. 2, 1903, in Missouri. They came to Gladwin County in 1921 from
Kentucky where he had worked in the coal mines. They lived near Dale for 12 years and then moved
to the Skeels area. He was a veteran of World War I. Funeral services were held Saturday at 1 p.m.
at the Miner Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Briggs officiating. Burial was in Dale Cemetery.
