George Stenger

GEORGE STENGER


  George Stenger, 66, of 388 W. Knox Rd., Beaverton, died suddenly Thursday, Dec. 28, at his home. Born in Germany on July 25, 1912, he came to Gladwin County in 1957 from Kent County. Mr. Stenger was a retired machine operator for Robison Industries and a veteran of World War II. He was married to the former June Bernard on March 9, 1947, in Midland.

  Besides his wife, he is survived by 4 daughters, Mrs. Harold (Barbara) Daniels of Cleveland, Mrs. Mary Rohrer and Mrs. Cheryl Powell of Grand Rapids and Katherine of Goshen, Ind.; 4 sons, Charles in the Navy at Great Lakes, Ill., John of Beaverton, George of California and Kenneth of Hemlock; one brother, Rudolph of Grand Blanc; 3 sisters, Mrs. Pauline Lehr of Freeland, Mrs. Sophis Loper of Flint and Mrs. Amelia Pengot of Pinconning; and 12 grandchildren.

  Services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. The Rev. Herbert Biermann officiated and burial was in the Arbutus Cemetery..
