Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Margie Spitler

   Margie P. (LaBean) Spitler, 70, of Gladwin, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Monday, June 6. She was born in Williamsburg, Kentucky to Leslie and Delores (Reynolds) Branham on Aug. 3, 1934. She was married to Robert Spitler, Sr. and owned and operated the former Curtisee Restaurant of Gladwin. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and traveling, but her greatest happiness was in her family. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren and was always there for them when they needed her.

   Margie is survived by her husband, Robert Spitler, Sr.; two daughters, Peggy (Wayne) Smith and Kathy Shirkey (Ron Kent); a son, John LaBean; step-children, Kim and John Burgess and Bob and Diane Spitler; five granddaughters, Tricia, Jackie, Tanya, Stefinie and Lydia; three Great grandchildren, Hunter, Hanah and Nolan; one sister, Patricia Pohyba of Florida; and one brother, Michael Jackson of California.

   A funeral service was held Friday, June 10 at the R.O. Savage Funeral Chapel in Standish. Burial took place at Pine River Cemetery. Special thanks to Mid Michigan Hospice and Medi Lodge of Sterling for Margie’s wonderful care.
