James Spencer SR.
JAMES SPENCER SR.
James R. Spencer Sr.. 46, of 1920 Long Rd.,
Beaverton, died suddenly Monday, Sept. 23, while
working in Detroit. Born in Cass City, Feb. 25, 1941,
he moved to Gladwin County in 1973 from Detroit. Mr.
Spencer was a self-employed sub-contractor for a
heating and ventilation installation company. He
served in the Marine Corps form 1958 to 1960. Mr.
Spencer and the former Sharon Vipond were married Feb.
11, 1968, in Detroit.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, James
Jr. of Capac; one daughter, Holly Spencer of
Beaverton; his mother, Mrs. Isabella Pond of Capac; a
step-son, Michael McIntyre of Midland; a
step-daugther, Mrs. Nicky (Kathryn) Searfoss of
Gladwin; a half-sister, Mrs. Reta Brantley of Pontiac;
and 2 grandchildren. Two brothers preceded him in
death.
Services were held Friday at 1 p.m. from the Hall
Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. The Rev. Father Thomas
Spitler officiated and burial was in the Arbutus
Cemetery, Buckeye Township..
